About me

Even the most productive of us struggle internally with feelings of anxiety and doubt, loneliness and despair. Our minds and hearts want healing. Our relationships could use attention and repair.  My role is to help individuals do this work: to live more deeply into their lives, through both the pain and their joy. I assist in creating happier relationships, overcoming unhealthy patterns, and living with intention and meaning. In the end, our role on this planet isn't to live without struggle, but through it, flawed and fierce, loving and humble.

I am a psychotherapist and coach in private practice, as well as a founder and clinician at Riverbird Clinic in Portland, Maine.  My work is particularly influenced by Gestalt Therapy, mindfulness and Buddhist psychology. Areas of specialization include trauma, somatic therapy, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. I have trained for over two decades in Buddhist meditation traditions and I draw on the depth and insight of this experience in my work with people.  In practice, this means holding awareness, acceptance, and compassion as curative forces.
